Living Hope's History

The timeline of Living Hope Church has been one of great excitement and exceptional standards. Since its beginning in 1996, we have become a rapidly growing community where people from all walks of life are accepted and feel free to worship God in a unique atmosphere. Our vision, then and now, is to be a light in the darkness in the most unchurched part of our country.

When the church first opened its doors, the congregation was made up of five families who all shared the same desire to drastically change the view of “typical” church. The purpose was to create an environment where people felt eager to return for next week’s service. However, with enthusiastic participants, we shortly began to outgrow Manor Grange which was a cozy home for a short while. We soon moved into Prairie High School where we continued to burst at the seams.

In November of 2003, we began a new movement entitled “Only God," where we joined with Prairie Community Church and two church families became one. During the move into our new home, broken and, hurting people kept filing through our doors and our numbers exceeded our expectations. We continued the “Only God” movement through October of 2005, when once again we merged two church families and Vancouver Community Church became our first satellite campus. Continuing to intensify our deliberate growth, on Easter of 2006, we launched five theater campuses in various locations throughout Clark County.

The authentic concept we wanted to integrate, which was creating a place where people could be fully known, has always stood as a firm foundation of our church. We want to continue the vision for more and more people to come through our doors with a sought out, heartfelt desire to be devoted Christ-followers. Many people are drawn to our services by the mere fact that we open many doorways for creative expressions. We are humbled to share God-given, talented people whose artistic abilities are tailored to share the gospel.

Furthermore, we would be thrilled to have you join us for any one of our weekend services at any of our locations. As mentioned earlier, our vision and deepest yearning is to be a vast light in a very dark world.  We are always striving to raise the bar and share God’s word in a way that is practical for changing people’s lives. As we continue to grow, we pray to encourage and support you in your journey. We want to experience life together and use these fundamental building blocks to reach people for Christ.

If you have a talent, a story to share or are just looking for a place to belong, try us out! We enthusiastically invite you to try a Lifegroup or volunteer at any of our local campuses. In a struggling world, our desire will always be defined by our purpose of faith: to share authentic truths with people in a broken world, and to go out and make believers of all the nations.

(The Great Commission: Matthew 18:19-20)
