In the book of Matthew, Jesus explains how he will determine where we spend our eternity…by how we look after the ‘least of these’, but compassion is not something we do once a year. It’s not a donation over the phone; it’s not bringing a coat to church. We so easily turn off the T.V. when the news makes us uncomfortable, but our responsibility as Christ followers is to experience the discomfort and push through the smoke and mirrors to the heart of what really matters to God. Compassion is the fruit of our faith and develops as our lives are poured out in serving others. As Pastor John shares from his personal experience we are strongly reminded that we can’t do everything, but we have to do something.
