PIT Crew

What is PIT Crew?

PIT Crew is a unique experience on the path to following God’s purpose for your life.

The PIT Crew program is an internship designed to assist men and women to clarify their calling through intentional placement and value training in a real-life field environment.

PIT Crew is a 10-month internship commitment with Living Hope Church at one of our campuses.  The purpose of the program is to provide a real-life church/missions experience with terrific ministries in a team environment.

Can I be on the PIT Crew?

Who is the average applicant?

Our applicants are looking for further training as they begin their careers in ministry.  Some have had some prior experience working in ministry.

What are the minimum requirements to be considered for an internship?

You must be able to make a commitment to 10 months with Living Hope and be available in various areas of ministry.

Can international interns apply?

Yes!  We encourage international applicants to apply.  The only variation to the application process is that international applicants must apply for a Religious Worker’s Visa (R1) from the American Embassy in their country.  This can be a lengthy process, depending on the country, so we recommend international applicants apply for our internship program 9 months before their potential start date.

What areas of the church are internships available?

We offer ministry internships in the following departments:
1. Childrens Ministry (Kids World), ages birth to 11 years old.
2. Student Ministries (LSM), ages 11-25 years old, junior high through college age.
3. We also offer adult ministries internships:
1) Extension
2) Worship
3) Life Groups
4) First Impressions

If you are interested in one of these, please contact Chuck Rodgers, our PIT Crew Coordinator, at 360.944.3905 ext. 152 or chuckr@livinghopechurch.com.

How much does the internship cost and when is tuition due?

As of right now, it costs nothing but your time and is a nonpaid internship.

Leadership Tracks

The follow tracks are currently reviewing applications:
MLT1: Life Group Leadership - This leadership track is for those who desire to lead life group ministries within a church.
MLT2: College/Young-Adult Leadership - This leadership track is for those who desire to lead a college-/young-adult-age ministry.
MLT3: Administrative/Extension Leadership - This leadership track is for those who desire to serve as a missions pastor or in career missions.
MLT4: First Impressions Leadership – This leadership track is for those who desire to work and coordinate with our volunteers in ministry.

Who decides what adult leadership track is best?

One emphasis during the application process is to assess your SHAPE (Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences) in order to help direct you to the area that is best for everyone. The selection is a 360-degree process made up of 1) the potential intern based on their desires and preferences; and 2) the ministry track leader.

Where will I spend my time?

You will be interning in one of our adult ministry tracks during your internship.  Each adult ministry track has a specific and shared developmental pathway to help you advance in your ministry.

Benefits

Personal Benefits

In short, you will advance personally through the mentoring portion of our program, you will advance spiritually through the educational and relational portions of our program, and you will advance relationally through the shepherding of people and team coaching sessions.

Are there any job guarantees after the internship?

There is no guarantee of employment at Living Hope Church or outside Living Hope Church after your internship.  Though we have hired a few interns over the years, it is not our goal to accept interns so that we may hire them when their internship is up.  We feel extremely confident that your investment with us will open many doors for you and we will definitely be here to help you with your next steps.
