Live Love. Easy to say – much, much harder to do. At Living Hope, we find ourselves in the middle of incredible need. Many of our community are living on the poverty line, or even homeless, without the guarantee of food and shelter on any given day.
The need is great, and our ability to fix the problem is limited. We want to do so much, but there is only so much we can do. It would be easy to give up or be discouraged by the size of the problem. But we are challenged by the words God spoke to the heart of Pastor John. “You can’t do everything, but you have to do something”.
So what does “something” look like? For Living Hope it begins with the LIVE LOVE Center. We have a vision and a dream to create a community resource center for the homeless and hungry. A place that will provide, food, clothing, resources, and help find shelter, jobs and steps to a better life. It’s a big dream for sure! But it starts simply with a meal, a service, and a place for human connection.
The Live Love center officially opens on September 30th, 2012. Between the hours of 11am & 3pm we welcome guests from our neighborhood and our city that need a hot meal, and a warm place to sit for a while. There will be great food, music, a message from Pastor John, and people available to chat and serve our guests. It doesn’t fix the problem but it’s the “something” we can do right now to live the love of Christ inside us.
