Changed to be Change

1. Review with your groups the meaning of the word reconciled (katallasso in the Greek). Since the beginning of this series, how have you strived for reconciliation in your relationships and with God? What has been restored during this process?

2. Take another look at 2 Corinthians 5:17-20. What is the ministry that we have all been given? If you were to write out a job description for being Christ’s ambassador, what would you include (Isaiah 58:5-7, Matthew 5:13-16, 28:18-20, 1 John 3:16-20)?

3. Read through Revelation 3:14-22. What was God’s complaint and reaction to the Laodicean church? What comes to your mind when you think about the word lukewarm? How important is reconciliation to the heart of God? (Romans 5:6-11, Hebrews 12:5-6, 2 Peter 3:9).

4. After hearing the message and seeing the videos of God’s work in Nicaragua, how is He stirring in your own heart? What can you do to make yourself more available to God so He can use you? This weekend we were challenged to turn from our indifference if we want to make a difference in this world. Read Ezekiel 36:24-30, what does God promise us when we make this choice?

5. Pastor John shared a very raw story of a change in his own heart while he was in Nicaragua. He said: “You know you’re lukewarm when your comfort or your control is confronted.” When and how has God challenged you in this way as he did with John?

6. Take some time to go through Psalm 51, the heart of David, a repentant sinner. What things stand out to you about repentance and God’s heart towards it? Can you see the reconciliation and restoration? Take some time to pray in your groups (Psalm 139:23-24) and allow God to reveal areas in your life where apathy has taken residence. He will not reject a humble heart and a broken spirit.
