1. The last words in the Old Testament come from Malachi 4:6. Read the passage as a group. . What does it mean to “turn the hearts”? Pastor Kris talked about his the father-son relationship. In your group, talk about the relationships you had with your dad and/or step-dads
2. In Ephesians 4:32 it tells us to forgive others as we have been forgiven by Christ. Who are some people you have had to forgive? How did the interaction go? Have you had to ask someone to forgive you? How did you feel having to ask for forgiveness? Kris mentioned forgiving his dad even after his death. Is there someone who has died you need to forgive?
3. In Romans 15:7, we are told to accept other people. How are you at accepting people from various cultures, backgrounds, age groups, attitudes, actions, dress, and social strata? Who are the hardest people for you to accept? Stop and pray as a group for the Holy Spirit to reveal the ways you can accept and relate to these people.
4. A father is to care for his children. Do you have a story of your father showing compassion to you? What is something you can do this week to show someone you care?
5. Hebrews 10:24 reminds us to spur one another on to do well. How good are you at encouraging other people? Do you know anyone who is a great encourager? What about them makes them such an encouraging person? Spend a few minutes verbally encouraging each other in the group.
6. In Ephesians 5:21 we are told to submit to each from reverence for Christ. How well do you do at listening to other people and their ideas? Would you prefer to be “right” or restored to others?
