Interruptions

1.  Pastor Gary spoke about interruptions this weekend.  When was the last time that you were interrupted?  How did you respond and what was the result?

2.  Read through 1 Kings 17.  How was Elijah interrupted?  The widow?  Take a moment and think about what would have happened had they responded differently.  What would they have missed out on?

3.  Sometimes, when you find yourself in a difficult situation, it is easy like the widow, to lose hope.  Take a look at Romans 5:2-5 and 8:24-25.  How would you define hope from these Scriptures?  When David lost hope, what did he do (Psalm 42 & 43)?  Did he put his hope in God or his circumstances?

 4.  Take a look at the following story:  Genesis 22:1-19.  Who was interrupted?  Who did the interrupting?  Read Hebrews 11:17-19.  Abraham made a choice when he was interrupted.  What was the result, why do we remember him?  When was the last time God asked you to do something difficult?

5.  Is God interrupting you right now?  How are you going to respond?  Do you believe that God has a bigger purpose to the interruption (Proverbs 19:21, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 55:8-9)?

We are encouraged by Scripture to honor and pray for those who lead us (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, 1 Timothy 2:1-2).  Please continue to be lifting Pastor John and Michelle up in your prayers for rest and for complete healing.  They give and sacrifice so much to lead us.  Pray about ways that you can encourage and uplift them.
